Men's Tennis Shuts Out Pitt-Greensburg for Second Time

FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State men’s tennis team shutout Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Greensburg, 9-0, for the second time this season on Wednesday afternoon.

At No. 1 singles, sophomore Andy Chisholm (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) beat Andrew Laddusaw 6-0, 6-1 while at No. 2 singles freshman Greg Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown) defeated Matt Blinky 6-0 in the first set and by forfeit in the second set.

Sophomore Matt Chisholm (La Plata, Md./La Plata) beat Adam Dearborn in the No. 3 singles spot, 6-0, 6-3 and Tom Wetzel downed Jon White in No. 4 singles with a pair of 6-3 wins.

Freshman Fabian Uribe (Elgin, Ill./Elgin) was victorious in No. 5 singles over Pat Smith (6-2, 6-0) and junior Chris Schoenbauer (Riva, Md./South River) earned the win in No. 6 singles over Mike LaFisca (6-3, 6-2).

In FSU doubles action, the Chisholm and Chisholm tandem captured an 8-3 victory in No. 1 doubles over Dearborn and Laddusaw. Shedd and Uribe continued their solid doubles play with a win over Smith and White (8-1) in the No. 2 spot while senior Matt Quinn (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon) and Schoenbauer downed Blinky and LaFisca in No. 3 doubles, 8-2.

FSU returns to action on April 15 when they travel to St. Mary’s at 1:00 pm.
