Newcomers Pace Men's Cross Country at Westminster Invitational

New Wilmington, Pa. ... Freshman Sy Farris (Fort Ashby, W.Va./Frankfort) finished 11th out of 75 runners in 28:31 to lead the Frostburg State men's cross country team to a fifth-place showing at the eight-team Westminster College Fisher Invitational Saturday morning.

The Bobcats scored 124 team points and finished behind Alderson-Broaddus (20 points), West Liberty (58), Geneva (59) and Gannon (113).

Fellow freshman Kevin Ripple (Mechanicsville, Md./Leonardtown) was the Bobcats' only other top-20 finisher, placing 19th in 28:54.

Junior Mike Replogle (Union Bridge, Md./Francis Scott Key) was 27th overall with a time of 29:11, while freshman John Densmore (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) placed 35th in 29:56.

Sophomore Brian Gallagher (Burke, Va./East Lake Hall (Fla.)) closed out the FSU scoring with a 38th-place showing in 30:12.

The Bobcats return to action on Saturday when they compete in the Lebanon Valley Invitational.
