Otter Colloquium at FSU to Feature Art Show

At the IX International Otter Colloquium to be held at Frostburg State University from June 4 to 10, dozens of pieces of wildlife art from across the United States and around the world will be on display. The public is invited to view these works on Tuesday, June 8, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Lane University Center's second-floor loft.

The artwork will be auctioned during the colloquium's final banquet, but the general public can submit a sealed bid for any of the works on June 8. Funds raised at the auction will be used to allow students to travel to future colloquiums.

The majority of the donated works feature otters, but a number feature other animals found in wetlands areas. Among the pieces to be auctions include some by Robert Bateman, a renowned wildlife artist.

Samples of the artwork have been on display in the window of the General Art Store on Main Street in Frostburg.
