Parker Leads Bobcats to School-Record 15th Win of the Season

GROVE CITY, PA — Junior Tiffany Parker (Pasadena, Md./Northeast) scored off an assist from sophomore Jackie Curry (Waldorf, Md./McDonough) with 4:16 remaining in regulation to lift Frostburg State to a 1-0 win over host Grove City College Friday afternoon at College Field.

The Bobcats improved to 15-3 on the year, breaking the single-season school record for victories set by the 1997 squad, which finished 14-6. Grove City fell to 10-6-2.

Frostburg State sophomore goalie Stephanie Zych (Slingerlands, N.Y./Guilderland) made four saves to improve to 15-3 this season and extending her single-season school record for victories as well.

Grove City junior Katy Turman stopped 10 shots, including a leaping tip in the 80th minute that sent a direct kick over the net.

The Bobcats, who outshot the Wolverines, 22-6, return to action tomorrow when they visit Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference rival Penn State Behrend at 3:30 p.m. in a battle for the league regular-season title.

The winner will host the AMCC Tournament October 26-27.
