Peake and Main Capture AMCC Baseball Weekly Awards

GIBSONIA, Pa. — Junior first baseman Allen Peake (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford) and freshman pitcher Aaron Main (Brunswick, Md./Brunswick) captured both of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference weekly awards after being named the league’s Player and Pitcher of the Week, Monday.

Peake helped the Bobcats capture the AMCC Tournament Championship this past weekend for the second-straight season. On the week, he was 10-for-18 to lead FSU at the plate. He had 12 RBIs and now leads the conference with 56 on the season. He also managed two doubles and two homeruns.

Main earned his second-straight award and third of the season after tossing a complete game in FSU’s 18-3 win over Medaille in the opener of the AMCC Championship. Main allowed just three earned runs, walked one and struckout seven to earn his ninth victory of the season.

Frostburg State opens NCAA Tournament regional action this Wednesday when it faces Gwynedd-Mercy in the opening game at 9:30 am. FSU is the fifth seed while the Griffins are the fourth seed.
