Rick Brindle Named Frostburg State University College of Business Alumnus of the Year

The Frostburg State University College of Business has named Rick Brindle of Chesterfield, Va., a member of the class of 1982, its Alumnus of the Year. FSU President Jonathan Gibralter presented Brindle with the honor at FSU’s annual College of Business Honors Reception on Friday, May 9. The event also recognized the top business faculty and students of year.

“Rick Brindle exemplifies what a true FSU Business graduate should be: an outstanding leader in his profession with commitment to honesty and integrity and an alumnus who always remembers what this institution meant to him,” said Dr. Ahmad Tootoonchi, dean of the College of Business. “He is always there for us with support for our College and our students. He is a wonderful role model for our students to look up to.”

Brindle, who majored in business administration and management, leads Industry Development for Mondel?z International, North America, with an annual revenue of approximately $36 billion and operations in over 80 countries. Mondel?z International’s portfolio, comprised of the global snacking and food brands of the former Kraft Foods, Inc., includes several billion-dollar brands such as Cadbury and Milka chocolate, Jacobs coffee, LU, Nabisco and Oreo biscuits, Tang powdered beverages and Trident gum.

He has been in the packaged goods industry since 1977. During his career, he has held leadership positions within Kraft Foods, Nabisco, Procter & Gamble and Safeway Food Stores. His business development leadership assignments have spanned the grocery, club, e-tailing and mass merchandiser classes of trade, including business development responsibilities for such retailers and wholesalers as Walmart, Supervalu, Safeway, Costco, Giant Foods, PeaPod, and

Brindle and his wife, Dee, have been married for 31 years and have three grown children.
