Rohrs Runner-Up in 100-Meter Hurdles at NCAA Championships

LISLE, Ill. - — Frostburg State freshman Sumer Rohrs (Frostburg, Md./Forest (Fla.)) captured runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2006 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday afternoon at Benedictine University. She posted a time of 14.22.

Rohrs earned a spot in the finals after placing first in the third heat during Friday afternoon’s trials with a time of 14.54.

Sheana Grigsby of Carthage College was the national champion in the hurdle event after running a time of 14.06.

FSU opened action at the championships on Thursday. The 4x100-meter relay team ran a season-best 48.10 placing fifth in the third heat, but failed to qualify for the finals. The relay team is comprised of Rohrs, sophomore Jessica Clingan (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport), senior Chelsea Lewis (Hagerstown, Md./Pike) and freshman Ashlee Resh (Sipesville, Pa./Somerset).
