FROSTBURG, Md. - Frostburg State University senior linebacker Lathon Romaine (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock) and junior tight end Fred Howze (Upper Marlboro, Md./FTH Catholic) have been named to the 2006 Don Hansen Football Gazette All-South Region Team.

Romaine had 50 tackles, 8.0 for loss, five pass breakups, three sacks, two recovered fumbles and one forced fumble this season. Romaine posted a season-best nine tackles twice this season in a 20-10 loss to Apprentice and a 22-0 setback to SUNY Brockport. He was named to the All-Atlantic Central Football Conference first team this past fall.

Howze led the Bobcats with 334 receiving yards and a 37.1 yard per game average. He also finished tied for first on the team with 22 receptions and one touchdown. He set season-highs in receptions (4) and yards (78) in the Bobcats 42-15 loss to rival Salisbury in the season finale.

Howze was a first-team All-ACFC selection and ended the season on a streak with at least one reception in 21-straight games.
