Ruble Competes in NCAA Cross Country Championships

WILMINGTON, Ohio — Junior Curt Ruble (Mineral Wells, W.Va./Parkersburg South), competed in his first ever NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship race, Saturday morning, on the campus of Wilmington College.

Ruble, the 2006 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Runner of the Year, earned a birth in the NCAA‘s, by finishing ninth in the Mideast Regional Championships last weekend.

In today’s race, he crossed the finish line in 186th place, with a time of 29:27. The race consisted of 279 total runners.

“To go from the high 40’s in regionals last year, to his excellent performance in this year’s regionals, he put himself in a great position to compete in today’s NCAA Championships,” said Head Coach Randy Lowe. “I’m very proud of his accomplishments this year. We’ve now had a woman compete last year and man this year in the nationals, so hopefully we can look to get our team there next year.”
