Season Too! Presents “The Piano Lesson”

Frostburg State University’s Season Too! will present August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play “The Piano Lesson” on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 29 and 30, at 8 p.m. in the F. Perry Smith Studio Theatre of the FSU Performing Arts Center.

The play focuses on the Charles’ family and their elaborately sculpted piano, which has survived in their family for 137 years. The piano has been kept in the basement of Berniece Charles’ home and has served as a reminder of the struggles her family has endured. When her brother, Boy Willie, comes to town in an attempt to purchase the land that their family has worked on as slaves, the two siblings encounter a tough decision on whether to sell the piano for money or keep it for the sentimental value it contains.

“The Piano Lesson” is directed by Larin Walker.

All tickets are $5. For reservations and information, call the FSU Theatre Box Office at 301-687-7462, Monday through Friday, 9 – 4 p.m.
