Several Bobcats Among Final Lacrosse National Statistical Leaders

FROSTBURG, MD — Several members of the Frostburg State women's lacrosse team are among the national leaders in the final NCAA Division III statistics released earlier this week.

Senior defender Adey Ntam (Silver Spring, Md./John F. Kennedy) finished third in the nation with 7.14 ground balls per game, collecting 100 in 14 games. She was one of just five players in Division III to grab 100 or more ground balls this season.

Ntam was a first-team Brine/Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association South Atlantic Regional All-America selection and was also chosen to participate in the IWLCA Division III North/South Senior All-Star Game held earlier this month at Johns Hopkins University.

Freshman Page Macey (Linthicum, Md./North County), a second-team Brine/IWLCA South Atlantic Regional All-American, finished 25th in the nation with 3.71 goals per game, finding the net 52 times in 14 contests. Her 13-point performance against Methodist on March 28 tied for the second-highest single-game total in Division III this season.

Sophomore goalie Sarah Shockley (Fallston, Md./Fallston) finished 12th in the country with .607 save percentage, recording 207 saves while allowing 134 goals.

As a team, FSU ranked 28th in the nation with 35.21 ground balls per game.

The Bobcats, who finished 6-8 overall, return 11 players and are expecting an outstanding recruiting class for the 2003 season.
