Seyler Named AMCC Softball Player of the Week

GIBSONIA, Pa. — Frostburg State junior shortstop Bethany Seyler (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Softball Player of the Week Monday.

Seyler went 4-for-5 with a double, a walk, three runs scored and two RBIs in a doubleheader sweep of AMCC rival Penn State Altoona last Tuesday.

She was 1-for-2 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in FSU’s 2-0 win in the opener, and she went 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and the game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh as the Bobcats posted a 7-6 come-from-behind victory in the nightcap.

Seyler is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak, in which she has gone 12-of-17 (.706) with five doubles, four walks, six RBIs and seven runs scored. She has raised her batting average from .250 to .377 in that span.

Frostburg State, which is 14-11 overall and 9-1 in the AMCC, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Mount Aloysius in a conference doubleheader beginning at 3 pm.
