Softball Picked to Finish Fourth in AMCC Preseason Poll

GIBSONIA, PA - The Frostburg State softball team was picked to finish fourth in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.

Last season, the Bobcats finished 17-19 overall and 11-7 in the AMCC. They advanced to the conference tournament, but lost to La Roche and Penn State Behrend.

Medaille sophomore Amanda Baker is the coaches' selection as Preseason Player of the Year, while La Roche sophomore Bethany Perrachino is the conference Preseason Pitcher of the Year.

Seniors Trish Brown (Manchester, Md./North Carroll) and Jen Cook (Cresaptown, Md./Allegany) were listed as players to watch for FSU. Brown is a two-time first team all-conference player who hit .415 and had a .673 slugging percentage with four home runs and 38 RBIs last year. Cook was first team All-AMCC honoree in 2005. She had eight wins last season (five in conference) with an ERA of 2.36, five shutouts and 87 stikeouts in 87.1 innings pitched.
