Stephens Named AMCC Tennis Athlete of the Week

ERIE, PA — Frostburg State sophomore Justin Stephens (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for his performances against Pitt-Greensburg and Juniata.

Stephens won both of his singles matches at the No. 1 position and also teamed with senior Terence Killen (Darnestown, Md./Quince Orchard) for two more wins at the top doubles flights as the Bobcats opened the year by defeating Pitt-Greensburg, 9-0, and Juniata, 8-1.

Stephens improved his career records to 19-1 in singles play and 16-2 in doubles action.

The Bobcats (2-0 overall, 1-0 AMCC), which has now won 18 straight dual matches dating back to 2000, return to action when they visit Salisbury on April 1 at 3:00 p.m.
