Student Latin Ensemble Debuts at Frostburg State University

The Frostburg State University Department of Music will debut its Latin ensemble “El Sabor” on Saturday, March 1, at 8 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center.

The ensemble is entirely student-run and consists of music and non-music majors who participate in other departmental ensembles. Directed by senior Annie Lewis, “El Sabor” has a full Latin ensemble and a Latin combo, “El Sabortina.” The full Latin ensemble inclues trumpets, trombones, saxophones, piano, voice, timbales, bongos and guiro. The Latin combo features timbales, bass and saxophone. Both ensembles will perform in the concert.

Tubonium! will make a special appearance at the start of the concert and play “Swing La Moderna” by Barretto.
