Taye Named FSU Male Athlete of the Year

Frostburg, Md. ... Senior Michael Taye (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery) has been named the 2000-01 Frostburg State University Male Athlete of the Year in a vote by Bobcat head coaches.

Taye, who received the honor at last night's Bobcat Athletic Awards Ceremony, earned his 12th NCAA Division III All-America honor after placing fifth in the 5,000-meter run at the indoor national championships held in March at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Taye has also earned provisional qualification to the outdoor national championships set for May 24-26 at Millikin University in Decatur, Ill.

Taye was also named this year's MVP of the men's track and field team.
