The FSU Chamber Choir to Present Annual Spring Concert

The Frostburg State University Chamber Choir will present its annual Spring Choral Concert on Sunday, April 29, at 4 p.m. at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church located at 16 Washington St. in Cumberland. This event is free and open to the public.

The FSU Chamber Choir, directed by Dr. Karen Soderberg-Sarnaker and accompanied by pianist Betty Jane Phillips, will perform Bach’s motet “Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden, BMW 230,” two works by Swedish composers Lars Edlund’s “Gloria” featuring tenor Joshua Ruppenkamp of Cumberland and “Bon” by Thomas Jennefelt featuring soprano Krystle Hutton, “Io son la primavera” by Canadian composer William Hawley and James Erb’s arrangement of the American folksong “Shenandoah.”

The choir will conclude the program with “I Dream a World” by Andre Thomas and Moses Hogan’s “Music Down In My Soul.” Organist Daniel Weatherholt of Hancock, Md., will perform Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue BWV 565” and the setting of “Psalm 128” by Emma Lou Diemer.
