02/05/2016 Lists FSU’s Master’s in Special Education Among Top 50 Best Value Residential Programs, an online independent guide to earning a master’s in education degree, recently ranked Frostburg State University number 28 of the 50 top schools that offer residential master’s in special education degree programs in the United States for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Schools and programs were evaluated based on publicly available information about accreditation, academic quality, student satisfaction, reputation in the field and cost. Best Value rankings were designed to help prospective students make a smart choice about where to invest their time and money in earning their degree.

The ranking is based on full-time enrollment cost of attendance at public four-year colleges or universities. The cost of attendance is based on room and board, tuition, fees, books and transportation for in-state full-time graduate students living on campus who started the program in fall 2015. calculated the cost of attendance for in-state students of FSU’s master’s in special education at $21,000.

The degree program at FSU is a 39-42-credit hour M.Ed. program. Prospective students must undergo an interview process, have a bachelor’s degree and a valid teacher certificate and submit writing samples and letters of recommendation. Students can choose from two levels of specialization – grades 1-8 or grades 6-12.
