"Urban Folk" Artist Jen Chapin to Perform at FSU

"Urban Folk" Artist Jen Chapin to Perform at FSU
Artist Jen Chapin
Frostburg State University's Center Stage presents Jen Chapin, playing her own, unique "urban folk" music, Friday, Sept. 29, at 8 p.m. in the Lane Center Appalachian Station. The program is free and open to the public.

Chapin's earthy sound has been called "urban folk" -- an acknowledgement of both her father Harry Chapin's fertile folk-rock legacy and of her own background. She studied jazz at the Berklee College of Music and also taught the History of Black Music at a Brooklyn high school. She writes songs of searching for solitude, of the city and boys and guns, of loss, of loves both pure and bittersweet.
