Volleyball All-AMCC Honors

FROSTBURG, Md. — The Frostburg State volleyball team had three players selected to the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference teams as voted on by the league coaches.

Senior Carly McDonald (Owings, Md./Northern), and juniors Amanda Hernandez (Crofton, Md./Arundel) and Amanda Frantz (Friendsville, Md./North Garrett (Garrett College)) were named to the All-AMCC second team.

McDonald finished the season ranked fourth in the conference with 401 digs and sixth with 350 kills. She finishes her career with 1,265 digs, third on the all-time career list, and 1,035 kills, which is fourth all-time. She is just the third Bobcat in team history to accomplish 1,000 in both digs and kills for her career.

Hernandez ranked second in the AMCC with 1,116 assists while finishing second on the FSU squad with 58 service aces and 78 total blocks. Her 1,116 assists is the fourth highest single-season total in FSU history. She also had a season-high 58 assists in a 3-2 loss to Penn State Altoona on Sept. 28 that ties her for sixth all-time in FSU history for a single match.

Frantz finished the season ranked third in the conference with 391 kills and third on the Bobcats with 47 total blocks. She smashed 27 kills against Penn State Altoona on Sept. 28, tying her for eighth all-time in single match records at FSU.

FSU finished the season with a 17-16 overall and 7-2 in the league.
