Volleyball Drops Two on Final Day of Moravian Invitational

BETHLEHEM, PA — The Frostburg State volleyball team dropped two matches on the second day of the Third Annual Moravian Greyhound Premiere Invitational, Saturday.

In the first contest, the Bobcats (1-3) lost to Penn State Altoona 3-0. Game scores were 30-20, 30-25, and 30-26. Junior Amanda Hernandez (Crofton, Md./Arundel) had 19 assists, senior Carly McDonald (Owings, Md./Northern) added 10 kills and eight digs and senior Kristie Butt (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) had eight digs.

In the second match, FSU lost to host Moravian by the scores of 30-27, 30-24, and 32-30. McDonald recorded 15 kills and 15 digs while Hernandez handed out 34 assists and added 11 digs. Butt had a solid performance posting 9 digs.

For her efforts, Hernandez earned All-Tournament team honors.

Frostburg State returns to action on Wednesday, September 7 when they travel to Division II Pitt-Johnstown for a 7:00 pm match.
