Volleyball Falls to Conference Opponent Penn State Altoona, 3-0

ALTOONA, Pa. - Freshman Chelsea Wassell (Westernport, Md./Southern Garrett) posted 10 kills, 10 digs and two blocks but it wasn’t enough as Frostburg State fell to Penn State Altoona, 3-0, Wednesday evening.

FSU (11-18, 6-2) lost by the scores of 31-29, 30-28 and 30-24.

Wassell recorded her third double-double effort of the season in the loss. Freshmen Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) led the Bobcats with 17 kills to go along with eight digs and one service ace. Sophomore Caryn Wright (Pikesville, Md./Western Tech) also had a fine outing with eight kills and three blocks.

Senior setter Amanda Hernandez (Crofton, Md.Arundel) led the team with 34 assists and sophomore Jennifer Wheaton (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) had 15 digs.

Frostburg State returns to action on Sunday, October 29 when it hosts Pitt-Bradford in its regular-season finale at 1:00 pm.
