Volleyball Falls to Penn State Altoona For Fourth Straight Loss

ALTOONA, PA — Frostburg State dropped its fourth straight match, falling to host Penn State Altoona, 30-26, 30-26, 30-26, in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest Thursday night.

The Cougars improved to 12-4 overall and 6-0 in the AMCC, while the Bobcats dropped to 9-14 and 3-5 in league action.

Freshman Jen Vance (Mt. Savage, Md./Fort Hill) posted a team-high 10 kills, but FSU managed just 27 kills as a team and committed 27 hitting errors.

Freshman Carrie Ness (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) returned from a four-game absence due to an ankle injury to post 21 assists and 14 digs, while freshman April Caprarola (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) tied her career-high with 19 digs.

Freshman Sam Seyfferth (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) added 12 digs.

Frostburg State, which has played 13 of its last 14 matches on the road, will get a much-need seven-day break before hosting Lake Erie on Friday, October 19th at 7:00 p.m.
