Volleyball Falls to Pitt-Johnstown at Home to End Nine Game Win Streak

Frostburg, Md — Frostburg State (14-4) struggled early against Division II Pitt-Johnstown, and never got back into the match as it was swept in three games tonight.

The Lady Cats (17-4) broke open a close game 14-11, winning 13 of 14 points to take the first game easily 30-14. The second game was much closer as FSU and Pitt-Johnstown were going back and forth until UPJ scored 8 of the last 11 points to take the game 30-23.

The last game of the match was the most exciting, as each team put together runs of at least 5 points before UPJ took the game 30-26.

Sophomore Lauren Petrick (North Caroline/Denton, Md.) led the way for the Bobcats with 16 kills and added 14 digs. Senior Stacy Bureau (Richard Montgomery/Rockville, Md.) added 7 kills and 2 blocks.

Frostburg State returns to action on Friday and Saturday at the Juniata Tournament, before taking on fellow unbeaten conference opponent Pitt-Bradford Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, Maryland.
