Volleyball Loses to Penn State Altoona in AMCC Tournament Semifinal Round

ERIE, Pa. — The Frostburg State volleyball team lost to Penn State Altoona 3-1 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament Semifinal Round Friday Evening. The match was held at the Junker Center on the campus of Penn State Behrend.

Frostburg State’s season comes to an end with a 17-16 overall record while Penn State Altoona improves to 21-6 overall and will move on to face Penn State Behrend in the AMCC Championship match.

The Bobcats dropped the first two games to PSA by the scores of 30-21 and 30-21. However, FSU rebounded to win game three 30-28 but dropped game four 30-24.

Senior Carly McDonald (Owings, Md./Northern) and junior Amanda Frantz (Friendsville, Md./Northern Garrett (Garrett College)) each had 12 kills followed by freshman Caryn Wright (Pikesville, Md./Western Tech) with 10 kills and 3.5 blocks.

Junior Amanda Hernandez (Crofton, Md./Arundel) had a solid outing with 36 assists to go along with a team-high eight digs.
