Volleyball Opens Conference Play with Convincing Win Against Penn State Altoona

Altoona, Pa. - Frostburg State looked impressive in defeating Penn State Altoona to open up AMCC play Thursday night.

The Bobcats (7-3, 1-0) took the first game 30-14, and never looked back winning the second and third games 30-21 and 30-23, to complete the three game sweep of Altoona.

Junior Kelli Bumgarner (Calvert/Chesapeake Beach, Md.) led the way for the Bobcats with 14 kills in the match.

Sophomores Carrie Ness (Francis Scott Key/Taneytown, Md.) and Lauren Petrick (North Caroline/Denton, Md.) continued their impressive seasons with 30 assists and 11 kills respectively to help the Bobcats in beating their first conference opponent of the season.

"We came out strong and played well the entire night," Coach Billington said.

Frostburg State returns to action Friday and Saturday at the Salisbury University Tournament
