Volleyball Ranked #6 in Latest NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Poll

Indianapolis, Ind. — Frostburg State is ranked #6 in the latest NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region poll released October 9th. This is the first time in two years that the Bobcats have been regionally ranked.

Frostburg State started off this season with a bang, winning 14 of its first 17 matches to equal last season's win total. Currently the Bobcats are 16-8 overall and 8-2 against region opponents, and they are still unbeaten in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference at 6-0.

Sophomores Lauren Petrick (North Caroline/Denton, Md.) and Carrie Ness (Francis Scott Key/Taneytown, Md.) are leading the Bobcats to their great start. Petrick has 298 kills on the season, just 11 short of her team-leading total from a year ago, while Ness has accumulated 819 assists for an average of almost 11 per game. Both are leading the AMCC in those categories.

"This is great. The team has worked really hard this season, and it is nice to have others recognize your program for that," said Head Coach Jeff Billington.
