Volleyball Splits Tri-Match at Waynesburg College

Waynesburg, Pa. — Frostburg State salvaged a split at Waynesburg College on Saturday afternoon, when they swept Seton Hill College 3-0.

The Bobcats (18-9) were never threatened in the second match as they won with scores of 30-24, 30-16 and 30-25.

Sophomore Lauren Petrick (North Caroline/Denton, Md.) led the Bobcats with 16 kills, while fellow classmate Carrie Ness (Francis Scott Key/Taneytown, Md.) added 24 assists in the sweep of Seton Hill College.

In the opener Frostburg State was swept 3-0, by host Waynesburg College (20-10), to end its three game winning streak. The Bobcats were never in the match as they lost by scores of 30-22, 30-16 and 30-23.

Petrick again led the Bobcats with 13 kills, to raise her season total to 337 and set a new career-high. Senior Stacy Bureau (Richard Montgomery/Rockville, Md.) added nine kills in the loss for the Bobcats. Ness had 29 assists in the match to raise her season total to 912 also a new career-high.

Frostburg State returns to action on Friday when it travels to Lake Erie College for a conference match at 5:00 p.m.
