Volleyball Sweeps Penn State Altoona To Improve To 7-0 In The AMCC

Frostburg, Md — Frostburg State (17-8, 7-0) swept visiting Penn State Altoona (9-9, 4-3) 3-0, to win its third straight match all at home, and remain unbeaten in AMCC play.

The Bobcats cruised to victory in the first game 30-22. The second game proved much tougher as Frostburg State led 19-11, before the Cougars came back to tie the game at 26-26. FSU held off the rally and scored four of the last six points to win 30-28.

The third and final game was close until Frostburg scored 10 of the final 14 points to win the game, 30-24.

Freshman Carly McDonald (Northern/Owings, Md.) led the Bobcats with 12 kills and seven digs. Sophomore Lauren Petrick (North Caroline/Denton, Md.) and junior Kelli Bumgarner

(Calvert/Cheasapeake Beach, Md.) added 10 kills apiece for Frostburg State.

Sophomore Carrie Ness (Francis Scott Key/Taneytown, Md.) had 40 assists on the night to increase her season total to 859.

Frostburg State returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Waynesburg College for a quad-match with Kenyon and Seton Hill.
