Volleyball Sweeps Pitt-Bradford, Fredonia

BRADFORD, PA — After having its 14-match winning streak snapped Thursday night, Frostburg State rebounded in fine fashion with 3-0 victories over both Pitt-Bradford and SUNY Fredonia Saturday.

The Bobcats started the day with a convincing 30-25, 20-15 and 30-22 win against host Pitt-Bradford in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference showdown.

FSU has now won 19 straight regular-season AMCC matches dating back to 2001.

Junior Lauren Petrick (North Caroline/Denton, Md.) paced FSU with 12 kills, while junior Carrie Ness (Francis Scott Key/Taneytown, Md.) added 31 assists.

Junior Sam Seyfferth (Broadneck/Annapolis, Md.) led a strong defensive effort with 15 digs.

Frostburg State followed with a 30-24, 30-22 and 30-27 victory over Fredonia.

Junior Jodie Carpenter (Linganore/Mt. Airy, Md.) had 10 kills, while Ness and Seyfferth added 32 assists and 10 digs, respectively.

The Bobcats, who are now 19-3 overall and 5-0 in the AMCC, return to action Monday when they host La Roche in another league match beginning at 7:00 pm.
