Weight Rooms to Undergo Renovation

FROSTBURG, MD — The Frostburg State University weight rooms in the Harold J. Cordts Physical Education Center will undergo a major renovation next week in a project intended to improve the facility for the benefit of the FSU student body, athletic teams and surrounding community.

Nearly $90,000 of new equipment will be added, selected older equipment will be removed, while other existing equipment will be repositioned.

New cardio equipment will include four treadmills, four steppers and two bikes. New strength equipment will feature power racks, adjustable benches, Olympic oak platforms with Bobcat logo and adjustable pulley stations.

During the renovation, the free-weight room will be closed Friday, February 4 through Tuesday, February 8 and the cardio room will be closed Tuesday, February 8 through Thursday, February 10. The nautilus room will remain open February 4 to February 10.

All three rooms will be closed Monday, February 14 and Tuesday, February 15.

"I am sorry for the incovenience this causes many people," said Frostburg State Athletic Director Ralph Brewer. "However, I think the quality of the new equipment and atmosphere in the rooms will make up for that."
