PITTSBURGH, PA — Senior Tracey Little (LaVale, Md./Allegany) scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Frostburg State to a 68-52 win over La Roche in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest Friday evening.

The Bobcats extended their winning streak to nine games and improved to 16-4 overall and 13-0 in the AMCC, while the Redhawks fell to 6-13 overall and 6-6 in league play.

La Roche opened an early 3-0 lead on a three pointer by Truly Gaston with 18:56 remaining in the first half. The Bobcats would answer in a big way, posting 21 straight points finished off by a Little jumper with 12:17 left. At the 6:43 mark, Megan Snyder made a free throw to bring the Bobcat lead down to 13.

FSU answered when freshman Amber Perry (Upper Marlboro, Md./Suitland) converted a three-point play to push the lead back to 16 at the 5:45. La Roche used the rest of the half and a 16-4 run to cut the Bobcat lead to five, 31-26 at intermission.

Just over six minutes in the second stanza, Kari Whiteman drained two free throws to give the Redhawks their first lead, 35-33, since the opening minutes of the game. Little would make a pair of free throws one minute later to tie the game.

At 6:29, Frostburg State went on a 17-1 run, finished off by a junior Kelly True (Warfordsburg, Pa./Southern Fulton) layup to put the game away 52-36. La Roche cut the lead to 12, 66-52 with only 48 seconds remaining and junior Ashley Mello (Joppa, Md./Edgewood) added a late layup to bring the game to a close.

Sophomore Tracie George (Windber, Pa/Windber) scored 14 points and sophomore Krystin Hargrove (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) added 13 for the Bobcats.
