Women's Basketball Blasts Villa Julie

FROSTBURG, MD — Junior Kim Faust (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin) recorded her sixth straight double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds to lead Frostburg State to a 90-38 blitzing of Villa Julie Thursday night at Bobcat Arena.

Sophomore Tracey Little (Cumberland, Md./Allegany), playing her first game as a Bobcat since transferring from West Virginia University, added 13 points, four rebounds and three assists, while junior Naomi Mason (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) scored a career-high 13 points.

Junior Christina Bleivik (Houston, Pa./Bartlett (Alaska)) had 11 points and a career-high seven assists, and freshman Sara Schumacher (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double.

The Bobcats (6-13) held a narrow 11-10 lead at the 13:30 mark before breaking away behind a 16-1 run to take a 27-11 advantage.

FSU continued to pull ahead and built a commanding 44-15 halftime bulge.

FSU outscored Villa Julie, 20-4, to start the second half as its lead grew to 45 points (64-19) with 12:27 remaining. The Bobcats led by as many as 52 in the closing minutes.

Freshman Alyssa Phoebus led Villa Julie (2-16) with 14 points and eight rebounds, while sophomore Lorrie Budd added 11 points and six rebounds.

Frostburg State returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Penn State Behrend in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference at 2:00 p.m.
