Women's Basketball Continues Winning Ways Over Villa Julie

STEVENSON, MD - Junior Tracey Little (Allegany/LaVale, Md.) led Frostburg State with 18 points and 16 rebounds as the Bobcats defeated Villa Julie on Wednesday evening, 60-44. FSU continued its domination of Villa Julie as it has now won all 16 meetings between the two teams.

The Bobcats (13-7) played well in the first half as they shot 11 for 33 from the field and 5-of-7 from the free throw line to take an 11-point advantage into halftime, 29-18.

In the second half, FSU struggled, shooting only 28% from the field, but was able to out-rebound the Mustangs 58-38 in the game. Villa Julie (3-13) closed to within four points with just over ten minutes remaining, however FSU finished strong to earn the win.

Little, who recorded her 11th double-double of the season, now has 931 career points. She would be just the 12th Bobcat to reach the 1,000-point plateau in school history.

Freshman Tracie George (Windber/Windber, Pa.) joined Little in double figures as she added 14 points on 60% shooting, including 2 for 4 from three-point range.

The Bobcat defense held the Mustangs to 16-of-50 shooting from the field. The 44 points scored by Villa Julie is the lowest amount given up by the Bobcats this season.

Frostburg State returns to action this Saturday, February 7th at 2:00 pm as it plays host to AMCC front-runner Penn State Behrend in a key league contest.
