Women's Basketball Dumps La Roche

PITTSBURGH - Senior Kim Faust (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin) scored 22 points and Frostburg State turned in a strong defensive effort en route to a 68-49 win over host La Roche Wednesday night.

The Bobcats improved to 7-10 overall and 2-4 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, while the Redhawks fell to 4-13 and 1-5.

Faust surpassed the 20-point plateau for the seventh time this season and now has 1,468 career points. She needs 80 points to tie Kara Reed-Nelson (1,548) for fourth place on the FSU all-time scoring charts.

Sophomore Tracey Little (La Vale, Md./Allegany) had 14 points and 12 rebounds, while seniors Christina Bleivik (Anchorage, Alaska/Bartlett) and Holly Myers (York, Pa./West York) added 12 and 10, respectively.

"We came out and controled the tempo from the beginning," said Bobcat Head Coach Jody Pepple, whose squad allowed its third-lowest point total of the season. "We limited them to one shot and got on the boards early."

The Bobcats will host Lake Erie in another AMCC contest on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
