Women's Basketball Falls to Penn State Behrend

Junior Erica Mozdy paced the way as she led host Penn State Behrend with 24 points and four assists as the Lions defeated Frostburg State 73-66 on Saturday afternoon.

Mozdy shot 6-for-10 from the field including three 3-pointers and was perfect on all nine of her free throw attempts for the Lions, who improved to 11-10 overall and 7-2 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

Sophomore Tracey Little (Allegany/LaVale, Md.) led the Bobcats (9-11, 3-5) with 18 points and 11 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season.

Senior Kim Faust (Upper Dublin/Ambler, Pa.) added 16 points to give her 1,509 points in her career moving her within 39 points of the fourth all-time leading scorer in FSU history (1,548 points).

Faust also pulled down nine rebounds improving upon her 8.5 rebounds per game, which ranks her third in the AMCC right behind Little who has 9.4 rebounds a game.

The Bobcats could only hit 2-of-14 attempts from behind the arc, well below their season average.

The loss ends the Bobcats three-game winning streak and drops them into a four-way tie for fourth place in the AMCC at 3-5.

Penn State Behrend sophomore Amber Krumpe added 12 points and led the Lions with nine rebounds, while junior Carly Cochran added 11 points and six rebounds.

Frostburg State will return to action this Wednesday at home as it will play host to Pitt-Greensburg at 6:00 p.m. in Bobcat Arena.
