Women's Basketball Picked Third in AMCC Preseason Coaches' Poll

GIBSONIA, PA — Frostburg State is picked to finish third in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll which was released today.

Defending AMCC Tournament champion Pitt-Greensburg is the favorite to repeat, while regular-season winner Penn State Behrend is second.

FSU third-year head coach Jody Pepple returns seven letterwinners from last year's 12-15 team that advanced to the AMCC semifinals.

Headlining the group is junior Tracey Little, who was voted the AMCC Player of the Year last season after leading the league with 16.9 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.

Little is this year's AMCC Preseason Player of the Year and is also a Preseason All-American honorable mention selection by Women's DIII News.

UPG returns eight letterwinners, including three starters, from last year's 23-7 team that won the AMCC Tournament title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Behrend welcomes back 11 letterwinners from a 15-13 squad that captured the league's regular-season crown, fell to UPG in overtime in the AMCC Tournament championship and earned a berth in the ECAC Tournament.

Frostburg State will open its season against Methodist (N.C.) College Friday, November 21 at 8:00 pm in the Wilmington (Ohio) College Tip-Off Tournament.
