Women's Basketball to Host Lake Erie in AMCC Tournament First-Round Game Wednesday

FROSTBURG, MD — The Frostburg State women's basketball team will host Lake Erie in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament first-round game Wednesday night at Bobcat Arena beginning at 7:00 pm.

The Bobcats (11-13, 5-7 AMCC) clinched the No. 4 seed with a 64-48 win over La Roche Saturday and will host an AMCC Tournament game for the first time since the 1999-2000 season. FSU was the No. 2 seed that year and went on to win the league championship.

FSU welcomes Lake Erie (7-18, 4-8) to Bobcat Arena for the second time this month. The Bobcats posted an 80-61 win February 1 behind 22 points and 10 rebounds from sophomore Tracey Little (La Vale, Md./Allegany).

Senior Kim Faust (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin) added 17 points and nine rebounds, while classmate Holly Myers (York, Pa./West York) had 16 points, six assists and four rebounds.

Lake Erie is just 3-13 all-time against FSU but claimed a 67-66 victory over the Bobcats in January as Carletta Harrell scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Penn State Behrend (14-11, 10-2) defeated Pitt-Greensburg (19-6, 10-2), 71-68, Saturday to claim the regular-season title and a first-round bye. Behrend will host the semifinals and final on Friday and Saturday.

In Wednesday's other first-round contests, No. 2 Pitt-Greensburg will host No. 7 La Roche (7-18, 3-9) and No. 3 Penn State Altoona (11-13, 6-6) will host No. 6 Pitt-Bradford (7-17, 4-8). Both games will begin at 7:00 pm.
