Women's Basketball to Open AMCC Tournament Wednesday at Penn State Behrend

ERIE, PA - The pairing for the 2002 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Tournament were announced on Monday.

Frostburg State, which posted a 3-9 league record to earn the No. 6 seed, will visit No. 3 Penn State Behrend on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

The Lions won both meetings with the Bobcats this season, 80-50 at home and 80-61 at Bobcat Arena.

Regular-season champion Penn State Altoona will host the semifinals and championship Friday and Saturday, respectively.


First Round - Wednesday, February 20

#7 Lake Erie (3-21, 1-11) at #2 Pitt-Greensburg - 6:00 p.m.

#6 Frostburg State (7-17, 3-9) at #3 Penn State Behrend (13-12, 9-3) - 6:00 p.m.

#5 Pitt-Bradford (8-17, 5-7) at #4 La Roche (12-11, 5-7) - 6:00 p.m.

Semifinals - Friday, February 22 at Altoona, Pa.

#4 La Roche/#5 Pitt-Bradford winner vs. #1 Penn State Altoona (17-6, 10-2) - 6:00 p.m.

#2 Pitt-Greensburg/#7 Lake Erie winner vs. #3 Penn State Behrend/#6 Frostburg State winner - 8:00 p.m.

Championship - Saturday, February 23 at Altoona, Pa.

Semifinal Winners - 3:00 p.m.
