Women's Cross Country Captures AMCC Championship

PAINESVILLE, Ohio — The Frostburg State women’s cross country team captured the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship for the first time since 2003, Saturday.

The Bobcats recorded 34 points and slipped by Penn State Behrend’s 39 points. Penn State Altoona came in third with 86.

Sophomore Jennifer Patton (Barton, Md./Westmar) was the team’s top finisher, taking home second place overall. Junior Kara Wastler (Sharpsburg, Md./Boonsboro (Hagerstown CC)) was fourth overall followed by freshman Gwen Massey (Thorofare, N.J./West Deptford) who came in fifth.

Freshman Christina Aumand (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Huntingtown) rounded out the top 10 by landing in 10th and junior Katie Lyell (Newark, Del./Newark) captured 13th.
