Women's Soccer Blanked by Catholic

FROSTBURG, MD — Frostburg State was shut out 2-0 by visiting Catholic in women’s soccer action Wednesday afternoon.

The Cardinals (5-0) earned their first goal in the fifth minute, when freshman Suzie Peters headed the ball toward the Bobcat (1-3-1) goal. Sophomore goalie Molly Whyte (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) dove to save the ball, but missed as Peters knocked it and it rolled into the net.

Catholic sealed the win when Kate Rosenberg netted the ball off a feed from Alix McDonald.

The Cardinals outshot FSU 14-2.

Whyte made six saves in the win.

The Bobcats return to action Saturday as they host Allegheny (Pa.) at 1:00 pm.
