Women's Soccer Blanks W&J, Improves to 10-1

WASHINGTON, PA — Senior Amy Foote (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco) scored a goal and added an assist to lead Frostburg State to a 3-0 shutout of host Washington & Jefferson Thursday evening at Cameron Stadium.

The Bobcats won their fifth straight game to improve to 10-1, while the Presidents fell to 0-8.

Frostburg State got on the board at the 29:19 mark when freshman Karen Kotofski (Glen Burnie, Md./North East) scored her team-leading 10th goal of the season off an assist from freshman Becky Rambo (Freeland, Md./Hereford).

The Bobcats opened a 2-0 lead just over two minutes later as freshman Alyse Reed (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) found the back of the net with an assist from Foote.

Foote then rounded out the scoring in the 53rd minute with an unassisted goal on a breakaway.

Bobcat sophomore Stephanie Zych (Slingerlands, Md./Guilderland) made four saves to improve to 10-1 on the year, while freshman Gretchen Weber stopped 14 shots for the Presidents.

Frostburg State will visit Allegheny (Pa.) College on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
