Women's Soccer Defeats Lake Erie 5-0

PAINESVILLE, OH - Sophomore Danielle Carter (Rockville, Md./Rockville) had two goals and an assist to lead Frostburg State to a 5-0 win over Lake Erie in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference women's soccer action Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats improved to 10-2-2 overall and 7-1 in the AMCC, while the Storm fell to 2-13-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the league.

Senior Becky Rambo (Freeland, Md./Hereford) scored the game’s first goal off an assist from Carter in the ninth minute.

Twenty minutes later, junior Jodie Gittleson (Rockville, Md./Wootton) scored an unassisted goal.

In the 40th minute, senior Karen Kotofski (Glen Burnie, Md./Northeast) scored off a pass from fellow senior Alyse Reed (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill).

Just 1:16 later, Carter notched the first of her two goals off an assist from junior Micaela Karinshak (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County), making the score 4-0 at halftime.

Carter scored the only goal of the second half in the 60th minute off a pass from Rambo.

The Bobcats are back in action Monday afternoon as they host AMCC rival La Roche at 3:30 pm.
