Women's Soccer Drops Second Straight to Regionally Ranked Team

FROSTBURG, MD - Frostburg State women's soccer dropped its second straight game to another regionally ranked team, falling 4-0 to Allegheny College on Sunday afternoon.

The Bobcats slowed the Gators in the first half, trailing only 1-0 at halftime. The Gators got on the board scoring off a set play as Jen Bilec scored the first of her two goals on a perfect header over the reach of Bobcat goalkeeper, senior Stephanie Zych (Guilderland/Slingerlands, N.Y.).

Zych, who made 5 saves on the day, kept the Bobcats in the game as long as possible and the defense broke down late in the game and the speed of the Gators took control adding three more goals in the second half.

The Bobcats had a few scoring chances but Allegheny goalkeeper Beth Van Parys shutdown every opportunity FSU had as she made two huge saves on two breakaways by freshman Danielle Carter (Rockville/Rockville, MD), who led the team with four shots.

Frostburg State will return to action this Wednesday as they travel to Washington & Jefferson at 7:00 p.m.
