Women's Soccer Earns Top Seed and First Round Bye in AMCC Tournament

FROSTBURG, MD — The Frostburg State women’s soccer team has earned the No. 1 seed, giving them a first round bye in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference tournament.

The Bobcats (11-5) this season have gone undefeated in conference play (9-0) and are currently on a 10-game winning streak.

In each of the last three seasons, Frostburg State has earned a first round bye and has been crowned tournament champions since 2001. The Bobcats squared off against Penn State Behrend in last years finals, defeating them 4-3 in penalty kicks.

In other conference tournament action, No. 3 La Roche will face No. 6 Lake Erie at 2:00 pm Saturday afternoon, while No. 4 Medaille plays host to No. 5 Hilbert at 1:15 pm.

The winner of the La Roche-Lake Erie game will travel to Penn State Behrend and the Medaille-Hilbert victor will play against Frostburg State. The semifinal games are slated for Wednesday, Novemeber 1 at 4:00 pm.

The AMCC championship match is scheduled for Saturday, November 4 at the highest remaining seed. The AMCC Tournament champion will receive an automatic bid the NCAA Division III Tournament.
