Women's Soccer Falls to Allegheny (Pa.)

MEADVILLE, PA — Allegheny scored a pair of first half goals and went on to down Frostburg State, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at Robertson Field.

Ashley Kittridge found the net with an assist from Jane Och in the game's 12th minute, and Jill Malone scored off a feed from Mandy Sysko just under 10 minutes later to give the Gators a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Allegheny (6-3) opened a 3-0 lead when Och scored in the 62nd minute.

Frostburg State (10-2) avoided the shutout when senior Amy Foote (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco) tallied her 10th goal of the season with just 11 seconds left.

Sophomore Stephanie Zych (Slingerlands, N.Y./Guilderland) made five saves in the loss, while Joan Anderson stopped three shots to earn the victory.

Allegheny held a 10-9 edge in shots and an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks.

Frostburg State visits La Roche College for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
