FROSTBURG, MD — Frostburg State tied Wooster 1-1 and 17th-ranked Johns Hopkins shut out Washington & Lee 3-0 on the first day of the second annual Bobcat Women’s Soccer Invitational Saturday afternoon.

In the opening game, Wooster got on the board in the fourth minute when an FSU defender inadvertently knocked the ball into her own goal. The Fighting Scots (1-1-1) were up 1-0 at the break.

The Bobcats (1-1-1) netted their only goal when sophomore Jen Naylor (Riva, Md./St. Mary's) scored in the 58th minute.

Frostburg State had a chance to score in the first overtime but senior Beth Hlebasko (New Market, Md./Linganore) hit the crossbar.

In the second overtime, Wooster’s Erin Lustic had the best chance for a goal but Bobcat sophomore goalie Molly Whyte (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) made a diving save to keep the game tied.

In game two, Johns Hopkins took an early lead on a goal by Kiley Keelin just two minutes into action, and Laurie Baumann added another goal in the 21st minute to give the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead at the break. Kim Lane capped the scoring off a corner kick in the 57th minute.
