Women's Soccer Win’s 3-0 Over Medaille

FROSTBURG, Md. — Freshman Kendal Moss (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport) led the way for the Bobcats on Parents’ Weekend with two goals giving Frostburg a 3-0 victory over Medaille, Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium.

FSU improves to 3-5 on the season and 2-0 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, while Medaille falls to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in the AMCC.

The Bobcats and Mavericks played through a scoreless first half as the teams headed into the locker rooms.

Frostburg State came out firing in the second half. Freshman Christine Fitzgerald (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) scored her third goal of the season, off an assist from sophomore Tricia Richardson (Gibson Island, Md./St. Mary's).

Fitzgerald’s goal gave Frostburg State the 1-0 lead just two minutes and 16 seconds into the period.

FSU added to its lead at 68:02 on Moss’s first goal of the day,off a feed from freshman Amanda Drake (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill).

Moss later iced the victory for the Bobcats at 85:29 to give them a 3-0 win. The goal was assisted by freshman Kaleigh Herring (Perry Hall, Md./North Harford.

The Bobcats outshot the Mavericks 10-2 during the game.

Starting keeper Stephanie Gwinn(Ijamsville, Md./Urbana) made two saves in the win and is 3-1 on the season.

Frostburg State will look to build on its win Tuesday night at 7:00 pm when they play Pitt-Greensburg at Bobcat Stadium.
