Women's Tennis Competes at the Penn State Behrend Invitational

ERIE, Pa. — Frostburg State women’s tennis earned a victory over Bethany but lost to both Alfred and Allegany at the Penn State Behrend Invitational Saturday afternoon.

In the first match of the day, FSU (2-4) lost to Allegany, 5-0. Junior Sarah Eisel (Frostburg, Md./Beall) had the best finish for the Bobcats, losing to Meggie Oravel, 8-6.

FSU shutout Bethany in the second match of the Invitational, 5-0. Eisel, junior Heather Potosnak (Easton, Md./Montville Township (NJ)), sophomore Alex Buchanan (Stockton, Md./Pocomoke) and freshman Ebony Beverly (Baltimore, Md./Western) all captured singles wins while junior Jenn Tolbert (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) and freshman Caroline Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown) were victorious in No. 1 singles.

In the third match, Frostburg State fell to Alfred, 3-2. Tolbert and Shedd captured a win in No. 1 doubles and Eisel recorded a victory in No. 2 singles for the Bobcats.

Frostburg State returns to action tomorrow when it travels to Washington and Jefferson at 1:00 pm.
