Women's Tennis Drops Three at Penn State Behrend Tournament

ERIE, PA — The Frostburg State women’s tennis drops three matches in Penn State Behrend Tournament Saturday.

In match one, the Bobcats took on Bethany (W.Va.) in a 4-1 loss. Freshman Amy Wittenberg (California, Md./Leonardtown) picked up the team’s only win by defeating Ale Viveros 9-8 in three at No. 3 singles.

In the second match sophomore Jenn Tolbert (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) and freshman Reidon Dare (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) picked up a win at No. 1 doubles by beating Amy Frizzell and and Susan Cooper of Penn State Behrend 9-7. FSU lost 4-1.

In the final match of the day, the Bobcats played against Fredonia, where Tolbert picked up an 8-2 win at No. 2 singles in the team’s 4-1 loss.

The Bobcats return to action Sunday as they travel to Penn State Behrend for the first conference match of the season at 9:00 am.
